The Kenny Everett Video Shows & Movies

Between 1978 and 1981 the Captain Kremmen cartoons ran as part of the The Kenny Everett Video Show (KEVS), however during series 4 the cartoons were replaced with live-action sketches.

The TV shows were made for Thames Television and the Captain Kremmen animated cartoons were produced by Cosgrove Hall Films, with characters designed and animated by Graham Kennedy (previously working on Jamie and the Magic Torch).

The three cartoon series were based on the original Radio Plays, The Adventures of Captain Kremmen, Banana Drama, and Double Trouble. There were also two New Year specials using the stories, New Ship, Space Party, and a shortened version of the Captain Kremmen and the Krells story.

In total there are 49 episodes, 39 animated cartoons, and 10 live-action sketches.

NOTE: Series 4 was renamed to The Kenny Everett Video Cassette Show.

Kremmen: The Movie (1980)

A soundtrack album was released by EMI to accompany the movie.

Synopsis: Kremmen finds a giant space-monster that is eating planets. When his spaceship is eaten by the monster, Kremmen is able to help the ship escape by pumping oxygen into the stomach and making the monster vomit.
